About Me

From an early age, I was a frustrated “Peeping Tom”. Whenever I was in the car at night, riding through a neighborhood, I was always interested in looking through lighted windows just to see what was inside those inviting – looking houses. Now after 27 years as a “legitimate” real estate agent, I’ve been in thousands and thousands of houses and sometimes even still, I’m completely amazed at what people do!

I bought my first old house in East Nashville in 1980 and decided that was a good time to go ahead and get my license. We bought a transitional Victorian built around 1900, approximately 4000 square feet, which was, at the time, divided into a “crack house” triplex. We paid $39,950. That same crack house later became the mayoral mansion when the then-current owner, Bill Purcell, was elected in 1999. Now, in 2008, the house is worth well over a half million dollars.

Things have certainly changed in East Nashville, as well as all of the other Historic Neighborhoods in the city. It has been my pleasure and delight to have been involved in Nashville’s real estate market during all of these positive and amazing trends and advancements.

From the beginning of my career, my first love and focus has been old houses and historic neighborhoods, although my experiences and varied customer base has led me to sell houses and properties all over Davidson County and all of the surrounding counties and towns.

After obtaining my Affiliate Broker’s License in 1980, I upgraded to a Broker’s License in 1983, and became a Graduate of the REALTOR’s Institute in 1987.

One of my proudest achievements has been continuous membership in the Nashville Board of REALTORS' Million Dollar Sales Club/Awards of Excellence from 1982 – 2007 inclusive. This is the highest standard for our industry as well as for our peers that a real estate agent can achieve and the fact that I have attained it year after year is attributed to my loyal clients who have been the mainstay in my “repeat and referral” business. I could never have survived almost 30 years in real estate without them.

What I can offer you as an agent is complete honesty and a true interest in your needs as a Buyer and/or a Seller as well as years of experience in pricing, marketing, negotiating – and most importantly, closing the sale!
